A privately published guide, independent of the authorities, and not advice on your own nationality or tax position.
What this site is
A privately published guide to holding Vanuatu citizenship alongside an existing nationality: whether your own country permits it, what a second passport achieves, and how tax and reporting are affected.
Independent of the authorities
Nothing here comes from the Government of Vanuatu or carries its endorsement. This is not the Citizenship Office, the Citizenship Commission, the Financial Intelligence Unit or the Department of Immigration, holds no designation from any of them and acts for none of them.
Not advice, and particularly not on your own nationality
Whether you may acquire another citizenship without losing your existing one is determined by your existing country's law. Nothing on this site establishes that for you, and general description is not advice. The consequences of getting it wrong fall on you rather than on Vanuatu, which is why every page here directs you to your own nationality legislation and consular service.
No outcome is promised
Citizenship is granted by the Vanuatu Citizenship Commission in its discretion. Nobody can assure approval, fix a date, or recover a fee once the corresponding work has begun; the due diligence fee is not refunded on failure. Durations mentioned here report the market rather than any undertaking.
Information ages
Fees, eligibility and travel arrangements change, at times abruptly. What is written here was checked against official sources on the date shown with each page. Confirm anything you intend to rely on.
Travel and dual nationality
Statements about visa-free access describe the position when written, and entry is determined by each destination. Separately: most countries require their own citizens to enter and leave on the national passport, and using another document to conceal nationality can carry consequences. That is a matter of each country's law, not of anything described here.
Tax
Nothing on this site is tax advice. Tax residence, exit charges and reporting obligations depend on where you live and where you hold nationality, and the interaction is specific to you. Take advice from someone qualified in the jurisdictions concerned.
External links
Official sources are linked so statements can be checked. Their content and availability are not within our control.
Enquiries
An enquiry binds neither side and starts no engagement. Identity documents, financial records and payment details should not be sent through the form.
Liability
Material is provided as it stands. So far as law permits, liability for loss arising from reliance on it is excluded; nothing here excludes what law does not allow to be excluded.
